Wasa-Nabin Urban Aboriginal Youth Program

Wasa-Nabin means to “Look Forward, To Look Beyond”.
The Wasa-Nabin Program offers promotion of healthy development that is rooted in cultural teachings and traditions that incorporates the Seven Ojibway Grandfather teachings.
This program is designed to meet the unique needs of our Urban Indigenous Youth and Community in a supportive, safe, and non-judgemental culturally relevant environment (ages 13-18).

Wasa-Nabin provides self-development programs such as learning to build a connection to the land/medicines, goal setting, leadership skills development, and how to make healthier choices which ultimately leads to healthier lifestyles and personal success.

Activities are culturally appropriate, and directed to improve interpersonal skills, knowledge, attitudes, and enhancing values, in order to promote personal well-being.
Services and supports are offered in the following categories; Social Support, Youth in Care, Healthy Eating and Physical Development, Education, Justice, Preventing Violence Supports, 2SLGBTQ+ Supports, Self-esteem and Confidence Building and Disability Supports.
Eligible Youth receive one-on-one support and services, as well as the opportunity to be involved in group activities.
